The design for this gut renovation of a 2400 square foot loft in a former doll making factory in the cast iron district of Soho strips bare and highlights the historic elements of the space. Preserving the feeling of an open loft, the volumes of the bedrooms are inserted behind a screen that acts as a backdrop to the cast iron columns and exposed wood beams.
